On January 20, 2024, the project Efficient Bio-manufacturing of microbial lipids and Innovative Application in Agriculture jointly completed by Tsinghua University, Beijing Enhalor Biotechnology Co., LTD., Beijing Yanwei Technology Co., LTD., Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and Beijing Forestry University successfully passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal organized by China Light Industry Federation.

The appraisal was organized by the China Light Industry Federation, and the experts of the appraisal committee were Professor Qiao Shiyan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, director of the National Feed Engineering Technology Research Center, China Agricultural University, Professor Yu Xuejun, chairman of the China Biological Fermentation Industry Association, Professor Su Haijia, vice president of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Professor Song Weiping, President of Beijing Dabeinong Science and Technology Group Co., LTD.; Professor Hao Xiaoming, former Director of Science and Technology Management of CoFCO and President of Nutrition Branch of China Grain and Oil Society; Professor Shen Bing, Group technical expert of CNOOC Chemical Co., LTD.; Professor Zhang Yuqing, Director of National Positioning Observation and Research Station of Ecosystem in Mu Us Sandy Land, Yanchi, Ningxia; Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences Feed Institute team chief researcher Xue Min and other 8 experts. Academician Qiao Shiyan serves as the chairman of the identification committee, and Chairman Yu Xuejun serves as the deputy chairman of the committee.


After questioning, defense and serious discussion, the appraisal committee unanimously agreed that "the project as a whole has reached the international leading level and agreed to pass the appraisal."

The project broke through a series of technical bottlenecks in large-scale and efficient bio-manufacturing and application development of lipids, successfully realized large-scale and efficient bio-manufacturing of new microbial lipids such as lipids and glycolipids, and developed a series of new products based on lipid complexes that can simultaneously meet the major needs of different agricultural fields such as farming, planting, forestry and grass. It provided a new solution for the cost reduction and efficiency increase of agricultural inputs and the high-quality development of agriculture, and implemented the strategy of scientific and technological power, agricultural power and green sustainable development.

In the "Biomass Conversion and Utilization" sub-forum of the 7th National Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry Conference in 2023, Professor Yu Huimin from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University introduced Surfactin (Surfa Tid), a microecological project product in cooperation with Enhalor Institute.


In collaboration with Tsinghua University, Beijing Enhalor Biotechnology Research Institute has successfully developed Surfactin (Surfa Tid), a microecological preparation with independent intellectual property rights. The product is prepared by using the patented strains of Bacillus subtilis that have been repeatedly selected and induced, and by high density liquid fermentation, the strains and metabolites are dried together.
